Why You Should Travel To Jamaica

ree

Jamaica was never on my list of places to travel to. I've been to Paris, London, Germany and Mexico to name a few. My friend was traveling back and forth to Jamaica and she would post goats and country landscapes. I had to know where she was and how I could get there to see this. I was so tired of the hustle and bustle of life in America. I booked the flight immediately after getting off the call. And once I touched down in Jamaica I have been in love everywhere since. Jamaica is now my second home. Some of the reasons I love Jamaica are the food, culture, and the people.

Let's start by talking about the food. There are so many food options that are specific to the island. This place is truly heaven to me . You can live off the land alone. Imagine bananas, mangoes, and soursop growing organically from your backyard. My favorite things to eat in Jamaica are Ackee and Escovitch . Try to stay away from the touristy restaurants and eat local or pick up food from on the side of the road. But if you must eat at a tourist restaurant stop and grab KFC. Jamaica’s KFC is known around the world to be the best.

The next thing that charmed me into a loving relationship with Jamaica is the culture. There is a vibe there that you feel as soon as you step off the plane. The air is crisp, clean, and refreshening. The city is always loud and bustling. Some of the world's greatest natural wonders exist here. Luminous lagoon is a bay and natural phenomenon with harmless microorganisms called dinoflagellates that emit blue looking light when disturbed.

Finally, the people of Jamaica embrace you with so much love and care. They love tourists on the island and will wait on you hand and foot. As an African American woman I feel safer in Jamaica than I do in America. The men in Jamaica give extra care to women and children. And if you are a plus size woman they will chase you down to entertain your pleasure. Single ladies beware of the jigaloos. These men are fine and know exactly how to treat a woman .

Overall Jamaica has become home to me now. I’m not living there full time but I feel so lucky to have been able to experience the island like a local. If you need help planning your next trip or would like a host while on the island don’t hesitate to reach out to me.
